Restaurants in the Resort
There are a few restaurants which we would recommend trying.
The resort has 6 restaurants and lounges as well as 4 waterfront establishments in the Los Suenos Marina. In the Marina, The Hookup is a sports bar featuring casual dining. Enjoy the panoramic marina and bay view in a laid back atmosphere, listening to a mix of classic rock and latin pop music. The perfect place for a sunset cocktail and the latest fishing tale!
The El Galeon creates dishes with a latin flair in an open air dining room with direct views of the bay. The El Galeon Restaurant and Martini Bar creates dishes with a Latin flair in an open air dining room with direct views of the bay. Two other waterfront restaurants include the Lanterna Ristorante Italiano and Bambu which features Sushi and Asian Cuisine, while upstairs from Lanterna is the Terrace Lounge for cocktails, more casual dining and the sounds of
local entertainers.

The Al Fresco at the Beach Club features wood fired pizzas and flatbreads along with other casual dining options poolside.

The Marriott Operates a Variety of Noteworthy Restaurants
La Vista featuring Costa Rican and International dishes serving breakfast, lunch and dinner overlooking the hotel's
pool deck, 18 & Greene is a nod towards a classic steakhouse with a wood burning grill serving lunch and dinner
in a patio setting.
The swim-up bar Arrecife Pool Bar and Grill serves casual food poolside, Bar Ocho is a central hangout lounge serving appetizers and other local specialties for lunch and dinner along with handcrafted cocktails overlooking the pool deck and views of the pacific ocean beyond.

Dining in and Around Jaco
On Playa Herradura Juanita’s and El Pelicano do a fine job with typical Costa Rican fare. They will also cook fish that you have caught and add the sides for quite a feast.
In Jaco on the side streets you will find El Hicaco with beach side dining as well as Latitude Restaurant in the Cocal, the Poseidon Hotel has air conditioned glassed in dining serving a good fresh catch along with a nice brunch on the weekends.
For a more casual atmosphere and local fresh ingredients try The Green Room Cafe located on side street Calle Cocal off the main road Ave Pastor Diaz. Additional foodie places using local fresh ingredients include Side Street Bistro, Puddle Fish Brewery or Graffiti Restro Cafe and Wine Bar in the new Jaco Walk.
Top Dining
Truly top notch dining can be found at the restaurant Lemon Zest located at the south end of Jaco or try the tasty pairings along with art and music at the Graffiti Restro Cafe and Wine Bar.
Development of Jaco Walk
The first of three stages completed for the new development Jaco Walk was celebrated in March 2017. The second stage concluded at the end of 2018 with a 56 room boutique hotel, another block of commercial spots plus a sports park, a convenience store and a clinic. The third and last stage will involve the building of a beach club and a 120 room hotel beginning in 2019 and extending through 2022.
Great Views
Just a bit north of Los Suenos off the main highway is Villa Caletas. From their lofty vantage point, Villa Caletas boast great views of the pacific ocean and surrounding area. The Anfiteatro Sunset Restaurant and Bar sits right above a unique outdoor music theatre. It is truly a romantic spot for sunset dining or cocktails
and worth the trip.
Join the Celebration
Jaco features various celebrations throughout the year so be sure to check with the management company or other tourist information sites to acquaint yourself with upcoming events as businesses will have different hours.
Farmers Market
Various vendors came be found on the main highways with a wide selection of produce and a range of prices. You will find what is currently in season.
Lastly, on Fridays during season, Jaco hosts a farmers market (see video below), selling wonderfully fresh local produce on the south end of town off the main road, Avenue Pastor Diaz. If you are coming from the center of town, turn rift at the Palacio Municipal, then take another right near the post office.
If you want to stay close to home and relax, all the restaurants within the resort will deliver to the condo. Los Suenos Wine and Spirits, located in the Marina Village, have a wide selection of wines and spirits. Jimmy T's Provisioning and Gourmet Foods is also located in the Marina Village offering a variety of organic imported and local food items, necessities, prepared items as well as catering and private chef services. 2637-8636
There is a local grocery store the Auto Mercado in Herradura Plaza about a mile from Los Suenos, facing the main road to Jaco, highway 34. They are well stocked with name brand items and have a good variety including fresh produce as well as a good selection of wine and liquor. There is an additional Auto Mercado in Jaco itself.
Time for a Beer
For those craft brew aficionados, one thing we tried recently was a craft brewery tour. Craft brews are popping up all over Costa Rica. Though we did not try it, Stiefel Pub in San Jose is supposed to have about a dozen craft brew offerings. Many operations are so small that they just sell to the local markets so one needs to keep an eye out. We found an operation outside of San Jose called Treintaycinco which offers several varieties and probably second in size to Costa Rica Craft
Brewing Co. We were able to have a tour of the facility, sample the local brew and purchase T-shirts with their logo on it. There are a few places in Jaco where you can purchase some of these craft brews namely Green Room and Side Street Cafe but
more will become available. Some other smaller craft breweries or brewpubs include Jaco Brewing Company, Manuel Antonio Brewing Company, Cervezas Artesanales Belmar and Lake Arenal Brewery with a host of others in and around
San Jose.
Surf Competitions
For a local surf competition check out the BackYard Restaurant and Barin Hermosa located on the main highway just south of Jaco. The competition is held on Saturday around 4pm with live music but come early if you want a spot.
Secluded Spots Near the Ocean
If you are looking for a secluded spot, Esterillos Oeste is a good a place to find the shade of a palm tree, some peace and quiet, and nice waves if you’re into surfing. A little farther south off the main highway, take a right at the Pelicano bus stop and a left on the dirt road to The Alma Boutique Hotel and Restaurant. It is an open air restaurant overlooking the beach.
